Grief and Loss

Breath. Feel. Remember. Love.

If we are lucky enough to love, then it is inevitable at some point in our lives we will lose that object of our love. And there is never enough time with our family, our friends, our pets. Our loved ones.

Grief is all the emotion we felt toward someone when they were alive, but now has nowhere to go. Love turns to pain. Affection and dependence can become suffering. If the relationship was complex to begin with, grief can be complex. While there are similarities in grief that people share, it is a uniquely personal journey, and one that requires Feeling It All to begin moving through.

I specialize in grief counseling, and in my trainings and my experience working with clients, I am amazed at how much our hearts can endure. How it can hold so much pain and yet so much love simultaneously. Allowing yourself to release some of your pain, your guilt, your anger, will not reduce your love, it is forever a part of you.
