Teens/Young Adults

I've never understood why people reminisce about their youth. Has everyone forgotten the awkwardness, the angst, the isolation, the pressure, the search for identity and connection and meaning that at times are so elusive?! You could not pay be to re-experience my teen years!

Not to mention, that teens today have it way harder that I did in the 90s/early 2000s. Teens today have lived through a pandemic, intense political and social upheavals, and the bane of my existence, social media. Anxiety and depression levels have skyrocketed, teens are way too stressed and in my opinion, often times way too busy. They need more support.

If you are a parent looking for a therapist for your teen, or are young and looking for a therapist yourself, I am here to help. Sessions start with listening to what the concerns or stressor are, evaluations for depression and anxiety, and then creating a treatment plan to move forward. The first session I request a parent be present and participate in the session. Moving forward the sessions will primarily be with the teen, though I will at times request a parent(s) to be present for occasional check ins. I also provide one complimentary parent coaching session, just myself and the parents/caregivers. Parenting is hard and we all could use some education, guidance and support.
